Site Readiness
Before your final blower door or airtightness test can be conducted on the completed home, please ensure all of the following items have been completed. This helps ensure an accurate test result and avoids delays on site.
Pre-Test Checklist
- All mechanical systems have been installed (Heat Pumps, HRVs, Furnaces, Range Hoods, Baseboard Heaters, etc)
- Ensure weather stripping is installed
- Fill all plumbing traps with water.
- Fill all floor drains with water.
- Close and latch all windows.
- Seal any cracks in window glazing.
- Cover and seal missing or broken window or exterior door opening (up to one, if applicable).
- Close all exterior doors.
- Close the crawl space access.
- Close the attic hatch.
- Close all knee wall access doors.
- Ensure there are reliable and accessible electrical hookups on site that can be used for testing
